Beta 2 globulin+Gamma globulin
Measures beta 2 and gamma globulin protein fractions in the blood.
Why This Biomarker Matters
Abnormal levels suggest immune dysfunction, infection, kidney disease, or blood disorders. Helps diagnose conditions like multiple myeloma, chronic infection, or nephrotic syndrome.

Overview
This test measures two protein fractions found in blood serum: beta 2 globulins (transport proteins) and gamma globulins (antibodies/immunoglobulins). Together, these proteins reflect immune function and protein metabolism. Elevated gamma globulins suggest infection, inflammation, or autoimmune disease. Abnormal beta 2 globulins may indicate kidney disease or malnutrition. This test is typically part of a serum protein electrophoresis panel used to evaluate immune disorders, kidney disease, or suspected blood cancers.
