Juniperus virginiana Ab.IgE
Detects IgE antibodies specific to red cedar tree pollen.
Why This Biomarker Matters
Confirms red cedar pollen allergy and explains winter allergic symptoms. Guides timing of preventive medications and helps you plan outdoor activities during high pollen seasons.
Overview
This test detects IgE antibodies against Juniperus virginiana (Eastern red cedar), a tree whose pollen is a potent winter allergen in North America. Red cedar pollen allergy causes seasonal rhinitis, conjunctivitis, and asthma exacerbation, particularly during pollen season (late December through February). A positive result indicates sensitization to red cedar pollen. This test confirms environmental allergies and helps guide allergen avoidance strategies, air filtration, and medication timing.
