Lactate dehydrogenase 3
The activity level of the LDH 3 isoenzyme in your blood.
Why This Biomarker Matters
LDH 3 elevation can signal lung or tissue damage, helping doctors pinpoint the source of illness and determine whether additional evaluation for pulmonary or organ-specific conditions is needed.

Overview
Lactate dehydrogenase 3 (LDH 3) is one of five isoenzymes of LDH, an enzyme found throughout your body. LDH 3 is particularly concentrated in the lungs and other tissues. Abnormal LDH 3 levels can indicate tissue damage in the lungs, kidneys, or placenta, or may suggest conditions like hemolytic anemia or pulmonary infarction. This isoenzyme-specific test provides more targeted information than total LDH about which organs may be affected.
