Stemphylium botryosum Ab.IgG

This test measures IgG antibodies to Stemphylium botryosum, a mold commonly found in soil, plants, and decaying organic matter. IgG antibodies indicate past or ongoing exposure to this mold. While acute mold allergies typically trigger IgE responses, IgG can indicate chronic or occupational mold exposure, possibly contributing to allergic symptoms, asthma, or hypersensitivity pneumonitis in susceptible individuals. This test is useful for diagnosing mold-related allergies in people with persistent respiratory symptoms.
