Preparation
Collect a 24-hour urine sample starting in the morning after discarding the first void. Avoid excessive salt intake and strenuous exercise during collection, and consult your physician about temporarily discontinuing medications that affect aldosterone levels (such as diuretics, ACE inhibitors, or blood pressure medications).
