Detects antibodies targeting cell nuclei using specialized immunological techniques.
Why This Biomarker Matters
Nuclear antibodies are key indicators of autoimmune disease. Positive results help diagnose conditions requiring specific treatment to prevent joint, organ, and tissue damage.

Overview
Nuclear antibodies are proteins your immune system produces that attack the nucleus of your own cells. This test uses immunofluorescence to detect and measure these antibodies in synovial fluid (joint fluid). Elevated levels are commonly associated with autoimmune diseases like lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and Sjögren's syndrome. A positive result suggests the immune system is attacking the body's own cells.
